Technology, our core competence

FWU's success over the past 30 years can largely be attributed to our state-of-the-art digital solutions. We were already thinking digital when most other life insurance companies still relied entirely on a paper-based offering. Consequently, we believe in technology-driven approaches for both our front and back office systems, as well as our investment services.

IT Approach

To provide our partners and customers with the best solutions along the entire value chain, we believe in decentralized IT development to leverage global talent and expertise: our front office system FILOS is developed by a team based in both Germany and Dubai, while our back office systems are primarily being operated out of Luxembourg and our digital asset management expertise is provided to us from our Spainish and Austrian sites.

In order to continuously improve on our IT offering without impacting our existing systems, we believe in separating between running IT systems and new IT solutions in development. With this approach, we can guarantee system reliability while still maintaining our capacity to innovate and expand our offering.

Digital Heritage

Technology and digital solutions have always been part of FWU's DNA. Since our inception in 1983, we have used technology to remain agile and efficient. Our goal has always been to simplify and automate processes. When other companies in the life insurance business were trying to optimize paper-based approaches, we were already developing our digital solutions. Therefore, unlike many of our competitors, we don't operate with systems that are still in early stages of development but with proven and reliable systems. This strong foundation enables us to leverage the capabilities we have already established to deliver state-of-the-art solutions for both our distribution partners and our end clients.
